Tony and Valerie Molina, now married for 12 years, began their lives in different parts of the country, but with surprising similarities. Both grew up on the fringe of society but evolved into world-class athletes, each with the desire to teach others how to transform their lives, physically, mentally and emotionally.
Tony served as an Elite Marine Amphibious Reconnaissance team leader with the United States Marine Corps’ Special Forces, and is a veteran of the Gulf War and Desert Storm. A certified Muscle Activation Techniques Specialist, Tony holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, with an emphasis on exercise science, from California State University Northridge. He is certified by the American Mountain Guide Association and also holds a certification in white water kayaking instruction. He is one of only two people in the world who have competed in every Eco-Challenge expedition/competition race to date, and has 21 years of experience in multi-sport racing, Ironman distance triathlons, and marathons.
Valerie has worked in the health and fitness industry for more than 20 years. Beginning as a fitness instructor and horse trainer, Valerie also is a veteran of the ESPN Extreme Games, the Mild Seven Outdoor Quest and numerous Eco-Challenge races (through which she and Tony met, and competed as a team). Honing her commitment, stamina and resilience on the racecourse, and through years of personal effectiveness and self-mastery training, Valerie competed at the top level of expedition competition, as well as in triathlons and marathons. She has been a certified coach for 20 years.
